Why should an investor buy your company's stock?

Camson’s products offer an effective solution to the agricultural sector’s pressing need for efficient and safe alternatives to chemical pesticides. The harmful effects of chemical pesticides and overuse of chemical fertilisers are well documented. To name a few, cancer, deformation, loss of fertility, pollution of land and water and lack of nutrient content in plants are known to be caused by chemical pesticides. The constant abuse of land has brought down crop yields and in some cases even made the land unfit for any further agricultural activity. Camson’s products address these problems in an efficient manner. This has turned around the mindset of farmers and rejuvenated their interest in agriculture. Though reluctant at first, farmers keep returning to us once they tried any of our products. Camson is gradually but surely winning the trust of the farmer. The results are evident in its impressive top line and bottom line growth. Camson with its technology has not only benefited farmers but also brought about a change that will benefit society at large. It is basically a win-win situation for everybody.

What events do you expect in your industry sector over the next few months? Are these hurdles or catalysts?

Right across the world as well as India there is an increased awareness of the harmful effects of pesticides. Thankfully, the media has played a leading role in highlighting this. This will lead to increased demand for agricultural products that are safe for human consumption.

Also, with the passage of time, farmers will learn and imitate the successes enjoyed by their peers who use Camson’s products. This augurs well for the environment as well as the company.

What growth initiatives has your company planned?

Research and development of new products and improving the efficiency of the existing ones is an ongoing process at Camson’s. There are several new products in the pipeline at the company’s lab, some of which have the potential to change the face of not only Indian but also global agriculture.

The company has received a positive response from the international farming community and is in the early stages of discussions to transfer its technology and launch products abroad. Internationally, the level of awareness to work closely with the environment is much higher and organisations in many of these countries are very keen to partner with us. In fact, several governments have already responded very enthusiastically.

To meet the demand growth expected from these markets and to cater to the ever-growing domestic demand, the company is in an expansion mode. Sometime back, it purchased land for new facilities and construction work is now at an advanced stage at these sites.

Who is your competition? What differentiates you from them?

In a true sense, Camson’s bio-products have no competition, because the technology is unique. However, as of now, farmers use chemical pesticides to protect their crops and chemical fertilisers to provide nutrients. Indeed, there is enough evidence to indicate that these cause long-term damage to the soil and environment. Even in the short run, Camson’s products offer longer crop protection than chemical pesticides. This reduces the number of sprays required during a cropping cycle, alleviating the stress of farmers having to find labour that is in short supply. Fewer sprays also help reduce costs.

How do you see your company performing over the next financial year?

We expect the company to do well in the next financial year. This will largely be a result of the following:

a)     The change in farmers’ mindsets and acceptance of the company’s new technology

b)     Increased marketing efforts, which will include setting up of demo plots to showcase the benefits of the company’s products vis-a-vis the traditional crop care techniques

c)     The launch of new products

d)     More efficient new versions of the existing products, which would help the company’s profitability
