ACC announces Q3 results

ACC Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 4356.339 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 2834.349 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Total Income is Rs 20202.463 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 18489.919 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

The Consolidated Results are as follows

The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 4155.099 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 2599.818 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Total Income is Rs 21296.839 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 19578.624 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

The above results for the quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009 are not strictly comparable with the corresponding previous period, due to the following :

(a) 100% Investment in National Limestone Company Pvt. Ltd. w.e.f. April 20, 2009, a company engaged in mining of limestone

(b) Investment in associate Alcon Cement Company Pvt. Ltd. w.e.f. April 1, 2008

(c) Divestment of subsidiary ACC Machinery Company Ltd w.e.f. March 10, 2008
The effect of the operations of these entities on the results is not significant.
