| The Exchange had sought clarification from Bharti Airtel Ltd with respect to news appearing in CNBC TV 18 on December 18, 2014 titled "Bharti Airtel moves SC seeking extension of license in 6 circles."<BR> <BR>Bharti Airtel Ltd replied stating "The Company does in the ordinary course of business deal with notices / disputes from time to time. Where the Company differs with the respective counterparties (be it licensing issues or any other) it takes steps as per processes laid down in law. In the instant case too - which has been carried in the media today, we have taken steps as per processes laid down in law.<BR><BR>As a responsible corporate that follows the highest standards of corporate governance, we are fully conscious of our disclosure obligations and can assure you that we will always act in consonance with these obligations and more.<BR><BR>We certainly do not wish that notice/disputes are pre-maturely reported by the Company - which could potentially affect market prices. As a responsible corporate, we respectfully submit such premature reporting can cause avoidable confusion in the market place.<BR><BR>In the circumstances and also the fact that these are sensitive matters, we would not like to discuss these publicly through premature disclosures." | |
