The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) vide its circular bearing reference no. DBR.BP.BC.No.63/21.04.018/2016-17, dated April 18, 2017, (RBI Circular) directed all commercial banks to make certain disclosures in relation to divergence in their asset classification and provisioning for NPAs. Further, RBI also directed the banks to make the first such disclosure with respect to the divergences observed by RBI for the financial year 2015-16 in the Notes to Accounts of Financial Statements for the year ended March 31, 2017. Our Bank's annual accounts for the year ended March 31, 2017 were finalised and approved by its Board of Directors in their meeting held on April 14, 2017 and were submitted to the stock exchanges immediately thereafter, i.e. before the issuance of the RBI Circular under reference. We hereby confirm that there were no divergences in the asset classification and provisioning observed by RBI for the financial year 2015-16.
