With reference to the news item appeared in a Mumbai Daily titled "Elder Pharma got Rs. 2000 Cr by liquidating assets?", Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd has Clarified to BSE as under:<BR><BR>"The article is completely false and misleading and maligns company reputation by alleging money laundering by the management. This article is grossly defamatory and calculated to lower the standing and image of Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd in the market. The said Article is thoroughly defamatory and published with malafide intentions with a view to hamper any effort made by the Company to revive and pay. <BR><BR>Elder Pharma has sent a legal notice to the owners and editors of this newspaper asking them to retract this article and issue an unconditional apology. The company is also claiming damages in the sum of Rs. 500 Crores for intentionally maligning the company without any factual verification or without confirming the true and correct facts from us".
