The Exchange had sought clarification from the company on September 03, 2014 with respect to media reports appearing in Financial Express on September 03, 2014, captioned "Tata Motors receives orders for over 1200 buses".<br/><br/>Tata Motors Ltd has replied as under:<br/><br/>"- the article is factual and we confirm receipt of cumulative 2700 nos orders (which includes 1200 buses mentioned in the subject newspaper) till date from various State Transport Undertakings / SPVs for modern "Urban" buses under the JnNURM 2 scheme, the two largest orders being 780 nos from Himachal Road Transport Corporation and 487 nos from the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.<br/> <br/>- the buses are manufactured to "Urban Bus Specifications -II" as laid down by the Ministry of Urban Transport."
