Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

New Delhi, Sep 9 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday rose Rs 1.30 to Rs 255 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher Rs 1.30 or 0.51 per cent at Rs 255 per kg with a business turnover of 2,798 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
