Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

Zinc prices rose in the futures market on Tuesday, driven by increased demand from consuming industries. The rise was supported by widening positions among participants.
New Delhi, Sep 24 (PTI) Zinc prices on Tuesday rose Rs 5.65 to Rs 272.05 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher Rs 5.65 or 2.12 per cent at Rs 272.05 per kg with a business turnover of 2,205 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
