Allied Blenders & Distillers Ltd appoints Amar Sinha as Managing Director, Designate. Sinha joins from Radico Khaitan.
New Delhi, Apr 2 (PTI) Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd (ABDL) on Thursday announced the appointment of Amar Sinha as Managing Director, Designate of the company, with immediate effect.
Sinha, an alchoBev industry stalwart with over three decades of leadership experience, was earlier working with the rival homegrown firm Radico Khaitan as its Chief Operating Officer.
The tenure of the present Managing Director and Key Managerial Personnel, Alok Gupta, is nearing completion, said a regulatory filing from the Chhabria-family promoted firm, which was listed in July 2024.
The board of ABDL, in its meeting held on Thursday, "approved the Appointment of Amar Sinha as 'Managing Director â Designate' and Senior Management Personnel of the Company effective from April 2, 2026," it added.
ABDL, the maker of popular brands like Officer's Choice Whisky, is amplifying its presence in the fast-growing premium segment of the alcohol market, where it has launched several brands in the last year.
It is the largest domestic Spirits company in India, in terms of annual sales volume.
Sinha's leadership journey includes roles as Chief Operating Officer at Radico Khaitan, Managing Director at Whyte & Mackay India and executive positions at Herbertsons (UB Group) and others.
Non-Executive Chairman Kishore Chhabria thanked Gupta for the leadership and his role in strengthening the governance framework and the company's presence in the Indian alco-beverage industry.
"As we look ahead to the next phase of our journey, I am pleased to welcome Amar. With his deep industry experience, I am confident that he will successfully build on the momentum we have created," he said.
In FY'25, ABDL's consolidated income from Operations rose by 6.2 per cent to Rs 3,541 crore, driven by strong growth in the Prestige & Above category and well supported by the high-margin Mass Premium category.
