Aluminium futures decline on MCX due to low demand. January contracts fell Rs 2.80 to Rs 278/kg. Analysts cite weak spot market trend.

New Delhi, Dec 9 (PTI) Aluminium prices on Tuesday declined by Rs 2.80 to Rs 278 per kilogram in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January fell Rs 2.80 or 1 per cent to Rs 278 per kg in 617 lots.
Analysts said the cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
