Aluminium prices surged in futures trade on MCX, mirroring firm international markets. Improved global sentiment and optimism drove gains.
New Delhi, Jun 12 (PTI) Aluminium prices rose Rs 2.20 to Rs 377.25 per kilogram in futures trade on Friday as firm trends in the international markets lifted sentiment.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for June delivery went up by Rs 2.20, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 377.25 per kg in a business turnover of 3,059 lots.

Analysts said optimism in the global metals market and fresh positions built up by traders supported aluminium prices.

In the overseas markets, aluminium futures on the London Metal Exchange rose USD 12.87, or 0.37 per cent, at USD 3,531.35 per tonne.

According to Axis Securities, aluminium prices strengthened globally after US President Donald Trump signalled a possible resolution to the conflict in West Asia, improving sentiment towards industrial metals.

Traders said the domestic market largely mirrored overseas trends, with global developments and demand expectations remaining key factors influencing aluminium prices.
