AMNS India stresses durable infrastructure for India''s green targets. Robust steel solutions are vital for strengthening solar capacity and optimizing renewable energy installations.

New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) As India moves ahead with its green targets, equal attention must be paid towards durability and longevity of the infrastructure being created, a steel industry executive said on Tuesday.
With India's solar capacity expected to more than double from around 135 GW at present to 300 GW by 2030, robust steel solutions will play a vital role in strengthening solar mounting structures and supporting infrastructure, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AMNS India) said in a statement.
The company's Director & Vice President, Sales & Marketing Ranjan Dhar, said, "As India scales up solar capacity to meet its clean energy targets, equal attention must be paid to the durability and longevity of the infrastructure being created".
Long-lasting, corrosion-resistant steel solutions can help maximise asset performance, optimise lifecycle costs and strengthen the reliability of renewable energy installations.
The company said it is working towards replacing 100 per cent of its grid power requirements at Hazira, where it owns and operates over 9 million tonne steel plant, with renewable energy by 2030.
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India is a 60:40 joint venture between Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel of Japan.
