Andhra Pradesh FDI Surges Six-Fold Under TDP Govt

Andhra Pradesh''s FDI inflows soared over six-fold to $608.59M under the TDP government, up from $92M. This surge reflects improved business climate & investor confidence.

Amaravati, Aug 6 (PTI) Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Andhra Pradesh rose over six-fold to USD 608.69 million in 2025-26, driven by measures taken by the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government, according to official data.
Overseas inflows in the state have increased from just USD 92 million in 2023-24 under the YSRCP government to USD 608.59 million in 2025-26 under the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Replying to a question by YSRCP MP Maddila Gurumoorthy in the Lok Sabha, Union minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday had said that the government strives to attract larger FDI by bringing policy reforms, financial incentives, infrastructure development, removing regulatory barriers, streamlining processes, bettering logistics and improving the business environment by enhancing the ease of doing business.
According to the data presented in Parliament, Andhra Pradesh received USD 608.59 million investments in 2025-26, compared to just USD 92.13 million in 2023-24, the last full financial year of the YSRCP government.
This marks an increase of more than six times in less than two years.
The inflows stood at USD 233.14 million in 2024-2025, before rising further to USD 608.59 million in the last fiscal.
In effect, the TDP government more than doubled FDI inflows in its first year and nearly tripled them in its second year.
According to the data, sectors that attracted maximum FDI in the last financial year include metallurgical industries, food processing, cement and gypsum products, services, automobiles, chemicals, electrical equipment and electronics.
It reflects growing investor confidence across multiple sectors.
The data reflects a strong turnaround in Andhra Pradesh's investment climate under the TDP government.
Since coming to power, the state government has focused on improving ease and speed of doing business, speeding up approvals, strengthening infrastructure and attracting global investors.
