Amaravati, Jun 8 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chambers on Monday hosted a Malaysian delegation for talks on expanding trade, investment, and commercial cooperation.

The delegation, led by Malaysian Consul General to South India Saravana Kumar Kumaravasagam, held discussions with representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation on strengthening economic engagement between the two sides.

"Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a preferred investment destination and offers significant opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, food processing, electronics, renewable energy, tourism, and several other sectors," AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao said in a press release.

He noted that the state had attracted investments worth nearly USD 23 billion over the past 18 months and invited Malaysian companies to explore opportunities in palm oil processing, value addition, electronics, logistics, and other high-growth sectors.

According to Rao, Andhra Pradesh can serve as a strategic entry point for Malaysian businesses seeking access to the Indian market, supported by its industrial ecosystem and connectivity infrastructure.

The discussions covered cooperation in processed foods, spices, rice, marine products, aquaculture, semiconductors, electric vehicles, machinery, renewable energy, healthcare, digital infrastructure, and tourism, the release said.

Malaysia was identified as a gateway to Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets, while Andhra Pradesh was seen as offering strong opportunities for manufacturing and export partnerships, it added.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to facilitate buyer-seller meets, business delegations, B2B engagements, and institutional collaborations to promote trade and investment in a structured manner.
