Aum Ventures Launches Rs 750 Cr Fund for Indian Startups

Aum Ventures launches India Innovation Fund II, targeting Rs 750 crore for 25-30 DeepTech and IP-led Indian startups over five years. Focus on pre-seed/seed stage.

New Delhi, Jun 11 (PTI) VC firm Aum Ventures has launched its second fund, Aum Ventures - India Innovation Fund II, with a target corpus of Rs 750 crore (about USD 80 million), which it plans to invest in 25-30 innovative start-ups over the next five years, a senior official of the fund said on Thursday.
DeepTech and IP-led innovation-focused Aum Ventures has earlier backed deeptech companies like Skyroot Aerospace, semiconductor start-up Azimuth AI, Cosmoserve Space, AI-based defence tech firm Sharang Shakti, etc.
"Aum Ventures announced the launch of its second fund, Aum Ventures - India Innovation Fund II, with a target corpus of Rs 750 Crore (approximately USD 80 million) to back Indian Founders building IP-driven, innovation-led companies, which have the potential to compete globally. The Fund is a SEBI-registered Category II AIF," the firm said in a statement.
Aum Ventures, which was formed in 2022, has deployed around USD 30mn capital across 24 early-stage companies.
"First close expected in July 2026. Over the investing term of five years, we expect to make 25-30 investments," Aum Ventures, Founding Partner, Chetan Mehta said.
The new fund will primarily invest in pre-seed and seed-stage startups, with initial cheque sizes ranging from USD 750,000 to USD 2 million and then provide follow-on capital to the start-ups, the statement said.
