Axis Bank Appoints Neeraj Gambhir as Executive Director

New Delhi, Jul 18 (PTI) Private sector Axis Bank on Friday announced the appointment of Neeraj Gambhir as a whole-time director, designated as executive director of the bank.

His appointment is effective from August 4, 2025, or the date of approval of his appointment by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), whichever is later, Axis Bank said in a regulatory filing.

The appointment is for three years from the effective date of his appointment and is subject to approval of the shareholders of the bank and the RBI, it said.


Gambhir, who would be liable to retire by rotation, is presently group executive (Treasury, Markets and Wholesale banking products) at the bank.

Prior to joining the bank in 2020, he was an MD with Nomura, India, heading their Fixed Income business.

Besides, the filing said, Arjun Chowdhry has resigned from the role of group executive (Affluent Banking, Cards, Payments and Retail Lending).

He will be relieved from the services of the bank at the close of business on August 31, 2025, it added.
