New Delhi, May 20 (PTI) The Textile ministry is receiving inquiries regarding participation in the upcoming Bharat Tex 2026 event and witnessing increased engagement from embassies of various nations despite global disruptions, textiles secretary Neelam Shami Rao said on Wednesday.

The mega event of the Ministry of Textiles is scheduled to be held here from July 14-17.

She was addressing an event organised to launch the Bharat Tex 2026 app, a unified digital platform designed to enhance the experience of buyers, international delegates, speakers, exhibitors and visitors at India's largest global textile event.

"We are seeing the inquiries, despite the global disruptions, which are happening all across from the exhibitors from different countries," Rao shared.

She further informed that, considering the government has clinched strategic free trade agreements with the UK and EU, India is poised for a greater journey, and that is what Bharat Tex 2026 is trying to achieve.

"It is my pleasure to also announce that space – the permanent halls– is almost sold out now, which shows the confidence of the exhibitors who have booked the spaces," the Textiles Secretary said.

A key highlight of the app is its AI Smart Assistant, designed as a 24x7 conversational guide for attendees. Users will be able to ask event-related queries in simple language and receive relevant information about the event, venue, schedule, directions and other key aspects.

The feature is expected to support both Indian and international attendees through a user-friendly and responsive digital interface.
