Blue Star Ltd reports 17% rise in Q4 FY26 profit to Rs 227 cr. FY26 revenue up 3.5%. Growth in AC sales and project segments.
New Delhi, May 6 (PTI) Air-conditioner and refrigeration system maker Blue Star Ltd on Wednesday reported an over 17 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 227.18 crore in March quarter of FY26, citing exceptional item gains and lower taxes.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 194 crore in the January-March quarter a year ago, Blue Star said a regulatory filing.

In Q3, the company had made a provision of Rs 56.35 crore to implement the changes from new Labour Codes on an estimated basis.

However, "in the current quarter, the liability was reassessed and finalised at Rs 38.83 crores, and accordingly, provision of Rs 17.52 crores has been reversed in Q4FY26".

Blue Star's profit before exceptional items and tax was at Rs 282.57 crore, up 13.6 per cent.

Its revenue from operations increased 1.32 per cent to Rs 4,072.06 crore in the March quarter of FY26. It was at Rs 4,018.96 crore in the year-ago period.

Total expenses were almost flat at Rs 3,817.09 crore in Q4 of FY26.

Blue Star's revenue from the electro-mechanical projects and commercial air-conditioning systems segment was up 1.1 per cent to Rs 1,989.92 crore.

Its revenue from unitary products, which houses its consumer-facing room AC business, was marginally up 1.26 per cent to Rs 1,984.96 crore.

Revenue of the professional electronics and industrial systems segment declined 7.3 per cent to Rs 97.18 crores in Q4 FY26.

In the latest March quarter, Blue Star's total income, which includes other income, rose 1.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4,096.01 crore.

For the entire FY26, Blue Star's profit was down 10.8 per cent to Rs 527.33 crore. The total consolidated income rose 3.5 per cent to Rs 12,463.9 crore.

Chairman & Managing Director Vir S Advani said FY26 was a challenging year shaped by multiple external factors, but it concluded on a positive note.

"The onset of summer from mid-April 2026 has led to a steady pickup in consumer sales of room ACs, indicating improving market momentum for FY27," he said.

The electro-mechanical projects and commercial air-conditioning segments are expected to sustain their growth trajectory, supported by demand from the manufacturing and data centre sectors.

However, rising input and commodity costs along with volatile exchange rates may present some challenges in managing margins, he added.

"Further, the ongoing Middle East crisis may lead to supply chain disruptions and could dampen growth. Overall, we remain cautiously optimistic about the outlook for FY27, while continuing to take a balanced approach and strengthen operational efficiencies to navigate the evolving business environment," said Advani.

Shares of Blue Star Ltd on Wednesday settled at Rs 1,807.35 apiece on the BSE, up 0.27 per cent from the previous close.
