Copper Futures Rise on Spot Demand

Copper futures climb on MCX due to increased spot demand. January contracts up Rs 5.30, February up Rs 4.10. Analyst views inside.
New Delhi, Jan 23 (PTI) Copper futures rose Rs 5.30 to Rs 1,278.35 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for January delivery increased by Rs 5.30, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 1,278.35 per kilogram in a business turnover of 9,058 lots.
Similarly, the February delivery for red metal went up by Rs 4.10, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 1,307.40 per kg in 12,493 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
