Crude Oil Futures Rise Amid West Asia Tensions

Crude oil futures surged 0.4% to Rs 7,011 per barrel on Tuesday, driven by escalating tensions in West Asia, including Iran''s missile strikes. Global oil prices also rose.

New Delhi, Jun 23 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Tuesday rose 0.4 per cent to Rs 7,011 per barrel in futures trade amid simmering tensions in West Asia.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for July delivery traded higher by Rs 28, or 0.4 per cent, at Rs 7,011 per barrel in 2,478 lots.
Analysts said the escalation of conflict in West Asia, with Iran firing missiles at Tel Aviv in retaliation for Israel's aggression in Lebanon, has kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.09 per cent higher at USD 73.79 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 0.24 per cent to USD 77.66 per barrel in New York.
