Crude oil futures gained Rs 31 to Rs 5,812 per barrel in futures trade on Thursday, driven by increased positions due to strong spot demand.

New Delhi, Nov 28 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Thursday climbed Rs 31 to Rs 5,812 per barrel in futures trade, as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December delivery traded higher by Rs 31 or 0.54 per cent at Rs 5,812 per barrel in 10,574 lots.

Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading flat at USD 68.72 per barrel, while Brent crude was trading 0.05 per cent higher at USD 72.87 per barrel in New York.
