Crude oil futures gained Rs 18 to Rs 6,675 per barrel on Wednesday, driven by increased demand. Global oil prices also saw gains, with WTI and Brent crude trading higher.

New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Wednesday climbed Rs 18 to Rs 6,675 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for February delivery traded higher by Rs 18 or 0.27 per cent at Rs 6,675 per barrel in 3,230 lots.


Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.75 per cent higher at USD 78.08 per barrel while Brent crude was trading 0.59 per cent higher at USD 80.39 per barrel in New York.
