Crude Oil Prices Rise on Spot Demand

Crude oil futures gained Rs 57 to Rs 5,788 per barrel due to increased spot demand. Global markets saw WTI and Brent crude decline slightly.

New Delhi, Jun 12 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Thursday rose Rs 57 to Rs 5,788 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for July delivery traded higher by Rs 57 or 0.99 per cent at Rs 5,788 per barrel in 11,222 lots.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.70 per cent lower at USD 67.67 per barrel while Brent crude fell 0.77 per cent to USD 69.23 per barrel in New York.
