Dr. Hemant Pande takes over as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL). He has 37 years of experience.

Nagpur, May 9 (PTI) Dr Hemant Sharad Pande has assumed charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) here.

He assumed the charge on Friday.

Dr Pande, who began his professional career in 1989 with Coal India Limited as a mining engineer, possesses 37 years of experience in WCL and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).

Prior to assuming charge as the CMD, he was serving as Director (Human Resources) at WCL, a statement said.

During his tenure, initiatives such as the 'SWASTH' portal for improved healthcare management, Dispensary Management System, and modernisation of various HR portals were implemented.

In 2022, he was honoured with the 'Best General Manager Award' by Coal India Limited.
