Drivn '' Prasanna Purple Deploy 100 Electric Buses
Mumbai, Jul 17 (PTI) Electric commercial vehicle leasing platform Drivn on Friday said it has tied up with private intercity bus operator Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions to deploy 100 electric buses across key corridors.

Under the partnership, Drivn will lease the buses to Prasanna Purple through its long-term operating lease model to help the latter expand its electric fleet with reduced upfront capital investment while providing long-term fleet support, it said.

The first batch of buses will start getting deployed from July-August 2026 on key corridors such as Mumbai-Pune, Bangalore-Chennai, Hyderabad-Vijaywada, among others, the company said.

Additional routes are also being evaluated for scaling up quickly once this deployment is completed, it said.

The deployment of these e-buses is a significant step in accelerating the electrification of the domestic private intercity bus sector through an asset-light operating lease model, enabling operators to adopt electric mobility with reduced upfront capital investment, the company said.

Large-scale commercial electrification requires business models that make the transition commercially viable for operators, Drivn co-founder and Chief Business Officer Alpna Jain said, adding that "our business model is designed to enable adoption by providing appropriately predictable, competitive and long-term capital".

Operators are also increasingly using the company's proprietary tech stack to increase their revenue and manage their electric fleet, she added.

"Through our collaboration with Drivn, we are taking an important step towards building a cleaner and more sustainable future for intercity travel. We believe electric mobility can deliver the reliability, comfort and operational efficiency passengers expect while creating a model that can accelerate adoption across the industry," said Saurabh P Patwardhan, Director, Prasanna Group.
