Panaji, Jul 27 (PTI) The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) has approved investment proposals worth Rs 622 crore across multiple sectors, which are expected to generate 3,180 employment opportunities, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday.

He chaired the 42nd meeting of the Goa-IPB in the presence of industries minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) chairman and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, among others.

"The Board approved a diverse portfolio of investment proposals spanning manufacturing, hospitality, education, electronics, shipbuilding and emerging technology sectors," a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office said.

The approved projects include units for manufacturing automotive components and optical instruments, electronics and technology development centres, advanced fabrication facilities, hospitality projects, educational institutions and infrastructure for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), the statement said.

"The investments would strengthen Goa's position as an attractive destination for sustainable and high-value investments while creating employment opportunities for local youth," Sawant said.

The Board deliberated on the proposed Large-Scale Industries Incentive Scheme, which has been formulated after consultations with industry stakeholders, prospective investors and government officials, and decided to forward it for further evaluation and approval.

The CM reiterated the state government's commitment to creating an industry-friendly ecosystem that promotes innovation, attracts quality investments, generates employment and supports the vision of 'Swayampurna Goa', the statement added.
