Gold Futures Surge on Spot Demand

Gold prices jumped Rs 160 to Rs 97,550 per 10 grams in futures trade due to firm spot demand and increased speculator positions. Global gold futures also saw a rise.

New Delhi, Jul 3 (PTI) Gold prices on Thursday jumped Rs 160 to Rs 97,550 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for August delivery traded higher Rs 160 or 0.16 per cent at Rs 97,550 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 13,137 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures rose 0.28 per cent to USD 3,369 per ounce in New York.
