Gold Futures Surge: Prices Rise Rs 331 to Rs 72,108/10g

Gold futures prices jumped Rs 331 to Rs 72,108 per 10 grams on Monday, driven by strong spot demand and fresh positions created by speculators. Global gold futures also rose.
New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) Gold prices on Monday jumped Rs 331 to Rs 72,108 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for October delivery traded higher Rs 331 or 0.46 per cent at Rs 72,108 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 16,860 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures increased 0.38 per cent to USD 2,556.10 per ounce in New York.
