Govt to Examine EV Financing, Testing: Kumaraswamy

Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy announced the government will examine industry suggestions on EV financing, payment security, and timely testing from a Bengaluru stakeholders'' meet.

New Delhi, Jun 17 (PTI) The government will examine suggestions shared by stakeholders from India's electric vehicle ecosystem, including industry leaders, regarding EV financing, payment security mechanisms, timely testing and certification of emerging technologies, Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Wednesday.
The Minister for Heavy Industries chaired a comprehensive stakeholders' meet on the EV ecosystem in Bengaluru, including industry leaders from electric buses, e-trucks, battery packs, ACC (advanced chemistry cells) & components, charging infrastructure and allied segments, among others.
"Stakeholders shared valuable suggestions on EV financing, payment security mechanisms and sought enhanced facilitation from ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) and ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) for timely testing and certification of emerging technologies," he said in a post on X.
He assured them that all the recommendations will be examined by the Ministry of Heavy Industries to further strengthen India's electric mobility ecosystem.
"Invited EV ancillary manufacturers to explore investment opportunities in Mandya, which received an encouraging response from industry participants," Kumaraswamy further stated.
The minister represents the Mandya Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha.
