Gujarat''s Growth: CM Patel Credits PM Modi''s Balanced Vision

Vadodara, Jun 29 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on Monday the state has emerged as the country's growth engine due to successful Vibrant Summits and carries forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concept of "balanced growth".

Delivering the inaugural address at the 4th Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the central Gujarat region in Vadodara, Patel noted that the state has benefited from the visionary leadership of PM Modi for the past 25 years.

Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi attended.

"Gujarat has benefited from Modi's visionary leadership for the past 25 years. We are carrying forward the concept of 'balanced growth' introduced by him," Patel said.

He said that the fourth VGRS is being organised following the success of the 'Vibrant Gujarat' summits in the Mehsana, Rajkot, and Surat regions. The VGRS covers ten districts of the central Gujarat region, he added.

"So far, investments worth Rs 13.30 lakh crore have flowed into various sectors across Gujarat in the last three VGRCs through 9,499 MoUs. Modi-ji used to recall a time when the central Gujarat region failed to attract even bicycle manufacturing investments. However, it has now emerged as a vital hub in the nation's manufacturing supply chain," said the chief minister.

Hailing the success of the Vibrant Summits, Patel said Gujarat has emerged as the country's growth engine.

"Central Gujarat serves as the developmental heart of the state, contributing significantly to sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and MSMEs," he added.

Patel recalled the state government recently announced the new Industrial Policy 2026, with the goal of transforming 'Developed Gujarat' into a 'Developed India by 2047.'


"This policy incorporates industry-friendly incentives for MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, startups, and others. It is the first policy of its kind to offer a 'Choose Your Incentive' feature," he said.

Patel said Modi has established Gujarat's identity as a policy-driven state.

"Under his leadership and guidance, Gujarat leads the way in policy frameworks, good governance, infrastructure development, and rapid decision-making," he added.

Sanghavi said central Gujarat now stands as the undisputed powerhouse of the state's economy.

"This region contributes a significant share of Gujarat's total manufacturing output. In 2025-26, exports from this area exceeded USD 20.5 billion, which is a matter of pride. More than 65 industrial estates have been established in central Gujarat alone, with over 24,000 industrial plots fully operational," Sanghavi said.

He said the region produces 92 per cent of Gujarat's automobiles and auto components, accounts for 70 per cent of beverage processing, and 63 per cent of pharmaceutical and electrical equipment manufacturing.

On the occasion, Patel announced eight new GIDCs to make Gujarat more credible in the field of investment, development and employment.

He said the "smart industrial estates" will be operational on 3,611 acres in Kheda, Ahmedabad, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur and Bhavnagar districts with modern infrastructure for industries in Gujarat.

He also flagged off 30 new AC electric buses launched by Vadodara Municipal Corporation under the Centre's flagship PM eBus Seva.

Considering the growing transportation needs of Vadodara city, the Central Government has increased the allocation from the earlier 100 buses to 250 AC electric buses. Under the first phase of the scheme, 130 buses will be deployed, stated an official release.
