Haryana CM Saini Approves Rs 340 Cr Development Projects

Chandigarh, Jul 7 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved procurement and development proposals worth over Rs 340 crore, an official statement said on Tuesday.

The government said negotiations with bidders reduced the final cost of the projects, resulting in savings of about Rs 15.11 crore, it said.

Proposals worth Rs 355.95 crore were considered in the meetings of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC). The two committees finalised proposals worth Rs 340.84 crore after negotiations.

In the HPWPC meeting, chaired by the chief minister, 10 agenda items with an estimated value of Rs 259.20 crore were placed for consideration. One proposal was deferred, while the remaining nine proposals worth Rs 225.76 crore were approved at a revised cost of Rs 217.68 crore, leading to savings of Rs 8.08 crore.

In the HPPC meeting, five agenda items worth Rs 158 crore were tabled. One item was withdrawn, while the remaining four proposals worth Rs 130.19 crore were approved at Rs 123.16 crore after negotiations, resulting in savings of Rs 7.03 crore.

The approved proposals include procurement of 11 kV pilfer-resistant metering cubicles for Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and 11 kV VCB panels, capacitor control panels and transformer panels for Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).


The committee also approved procurement of laboratory equipment by the Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd for a laboratory to be operated in public-private partnership mode under the Government of India's National Programme for Dairy Development.

Infrastructure projects approved during the meeting include construction of a master road and service road between Sectors 78 and 80 in Gurugram under the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

For the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, approval was granted for installation of six micro sewage treatment plants for parks and green belts across several sectors, along with related infrastructure and operation and maintenance works.

The committee also cleared projects under the Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, including laying sewer lines and constructing manholes in Kundli, developing a stormwater drainage system in Kharkhoda, widening and strengthening a 65-metre-wide road from GT Road to Diwan Farm, and construction of a 7.50 MLD sewage treatment plant and a main pumping station in Kundli.

Under the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, approvals were given for construction of a 20 MLD sewage treatment plant, a 50 MLD main pumping station for the Panchkula Industrial Area, strengthening of the existing 67.5 MLD pumping station, expansion of a 15 MLD sewage treatment plant to 30 MLD, and construction of a 10 MLD sewage treatment plant and pumping station in Sector 29 of the Pinjore-Kalka Urban Complex.

The chief minister directed officials to ensure that materials supplied for the projects meet prescribed quality standards and are delivered within the stipulated timelines, the statement added.
