Haryana prepares for Rabi procurement season 2026-27 starting April 1. Mandis equipped, biometric procurement, geo-fencing implemented.
Chandigarh, Mar 31 (PTI) Haryana is fully prepared for the Rabi procurement season 2026-27, which will start on April 1 and continue till May 15, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rajesh Nagar said on Tuesday.
All mandis in the state have been equipped with necessary facilities and cleanliness arrangements for farmers, he added.
He said the district food and supply controllers and agency managers have been given special training to ensure smooth procurement.
Procurement will be biometric-based, allowing either the farmer or one authorised nominee to complete the process, he said.
The minister said all mandis have been geo-fenced to ensure that activities like gate pass issuance, auctions, J-forms and lifting of produce take place only within mandi premises.
Uploading of vehicle photographs, along with registration numbers, has been made mandatory for gate passes, he added.
Exit gate passes and storage operations will also be monitored through geo-fencing to prevent irregularities.
Procurement will be done for farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal, with crop verification through satellite imagery and checks by officials, he added.
