Helium Smart Air, a D2C AC brand, raises $2M in seed funding from India Quotient. Scaling product development, R&D, and distribution.
New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Helium Smart Air, a D2C consumer brand offering residential air-conditioners, on Tuesday said it has raised USD 2 million in a seed funding round from India Quotient.

The fund will be spent to scale product development, R&D and distribution channels, according to a statement from the company, founded by IIT Kanpur alumni Ashish Sharma and Aman Munka.

The company has a research collaboration with IIT Kanpur for innovative solutions built on intelligent design, digital convenience, and accessible technology.

Helium Smart Air, which is working to democratise access to air-conditioning in India, has built up its first product for cooling areas up to 100 sq ft.

With surging real estate prices pushing vertical growth, the demand for functional and space-efficient ACs is rising. However, according to Helium Smart Air, currently available options are still built for traditional rooms, ignoring space constraints, energy costs and climate change.

"Helium Air, the brand's first product, built for areas up to 100 sq ft, consumes significantly lower energy and is made to fit everyone's bills. It is engineered to run on even 1kw solar panels, making it one of its kind in the market," it said.

"At Helium, we are creating right-sized cooling solutions for modern, functional spaces - from bedrooms and office cabins to small businesses and hospitality settings, where traditional ACs simply don't fit," said Sharma.
