India and South Korea discuss deepening financial sector cooperation, fintech, digital payments, investment, and GIFT-IFSC opportunities.

New Delhi, Apr 20 (PTI) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday held bilateral talks with the Chairman of South Korea's Financial Services Commission, Lee Eog-weon, to explore ways to deepen cooperation in the financial sector.
Both leaders discussed avenues to enhance cooperation and sharing of knowledge between the two countries in areas like fintech innovation, digital payments, investment, local currency settlement, and opportunities for business in GIFT-IFSC, the finance ministry said in a post on X.
"The significant potential for future collaboration in financial sector was emphasised and both sides deliberated on identifying avenues for greater engagement in the domains of start-ups and bilateral investment, including through India's NIIF @NIIFIndia," it said.
