Jindal Steel Wins Thakurani-A1 Iron Ore Block

Jindal Steel secures Thakurani-A1 iron ore block in Odisha at a premium of 101.20%. Mine has 50 million tonnes of iron ore resources.

New Delhi, Mar 11 (PTI) Jindal Steel has been declared as preferred bidder by the Government of Odisha for the Thakurani-A1 iron ore block located at Keonjhar in the state.
The mine covering an area of 202 Ha in Keonjhar, has been secured at a premium of 101.20 per cent, the steel maker said in an exchange filing.
The Thakurani-A1 iron ore block was part of a recent auction round for 12 virgin mineral blocks notified by the Odisha Directorate of Mines and Geology in December 2025, the company said.
"The virgin block is G3-level explored with around 50 million tonnes of iron ore resources," Jindal Steel said, citing government documents.
