JSW Energy Q4 Profit Up 38% to Rs 574 Cr

JSW Energy reports a 38% rise in Q4 net profit to Rs 574 crore, driven by higher revenues and capacity additions. Dividend declared.
New Delhi, May 11 (PTI) JSW Energy on Monday posted over 38 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 574 crore in the March quarter of FY 2025-26, mainly on the back of higher revenues.
The consolidated profit of the company stood at Rs 415 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2025, a regulatory filing showed.
Total revenue rose to Rs 4,851 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 3,497 crore in the same period a year ago.
The board also recommended a dividend of Rs 2 (20%) per equity share of Rs 10 each.
A company statement said that total revenue increased by 39 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 4,851 crore, resulting in EBITDA growth of 72 per cent YoY at Rs 2,602 crore, driven by contributions from Mahanadi, O2 Power, and organic capacity additions.
Installed capacity increased by 118 MW during the March quarter of FY26 to 13.45 GW, driven by organic renewable capacity addition.
During the last twelve months, the installed capacity addition stood at 2,579 MW, including 1,343 MW of inorganic capacity via the O2 Power portfolio acquisition.
Total installed capacity comprises 7,796 MW of renewable energy (58%) and 5,658 MW of Thermal (42%). The current total locked-in generation capacity stands at 32.1 GW.
Power sales increased by 48 per cent YoY from 7.9 BUs (billion units) to 11.7 BUs in the quarter.
Thermal generation grew by 43 per cent YoY from 6.2 BUs to 8.8 BUs, led by contributions from the Mahanadi Plant and Utkal.
Renewable energy generation rose 68 per cent YoY from 1.7 BUs to 2.9 BUs, primarily driven by contributions from the O2 portfolio and organic capacity additions during the last twelve months.
Net long-term PPA (power purchase agreement) sales grew by 25 per cent YoY from 6.9 BUs to 8.6 BUs.
Short-term thermal sales stood at 3.1 BUs, up 201 per cent YoY, from 1.0 BUs, aided by monetisation of back-down LT volumes at Mahanadi Plant via short-term markets.
Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, said, "FY26 has been a pivotal year as we translated the bold ambitions of Strategy 3.0 into tangible business outcomes. We added 2.6 GW of capacity. Our financial performance reflects this momentum, with the highest-ever EBITA and PAT."
For the entire FY26, the net profit rose to Rs 2,762 crore from Rs 1983 crore in the preceding financial year. Total revenue also increased to Rs 19,878 crore from Rs 12,639 crore in the previous fiscal.
