Mumbai, Mar 11 (PTI) Maharashtra Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar on Wednesday directed the IT department to prepare a model framework and comprehensive policy within a month to streamline delivery of government digital services via Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar service centres.

He noted that the demand for e-services and Aadhaar-related services among citizens has increased. Such services must be delivered on time, while the business of Aadhaar centre operators should remain viable.

"All citizens in the state should receive government e-services without difficulty. Various digital services of the government must be delivered to citizens without disruption through Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar centres. A model operating procedure and comprehensive policy should be prepared within a month to expedite services by centre operators and address their issues," Shelar emphahsised.

The directive was issued at a meeting chaired by the minister at Mantralaya to discuss various demands of Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar service centre operators.

He asked the IT department to take immediate action to ensure pending commissions related to Aadhaar services are released to operators at the earliest.

The minister asked the department to convene a joint meeting with MahaOnline, MahaIT and CMS regarding the refund of deposits earlier collected from operators while starting Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar service centres.

He suggested setting up a study group to assess the actual operational costs involved in running Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar service centres.

IT Department Secretary Virendra Singh, MahaIT Managing Director Sanjay Katkar, director Bhuvaneshwari S and representatives of Maha e-Seva and Aadhaar centre association were present at the meeting.
