Marriott opens Le Meridien Surat. IHG Hotels & Resorts to open Holiday Inn Resort Alwar. Hotel expansion in India.

Mumbai, Apr 29 (PTI) Marriott International on Wednesday announced the opening of 185-key Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts Surat in Gujarat, marking the brand's debut in India's Diamond City.
"India continues to be an important growth market, and the debut of Le Meridien in Surat reflects an ideal expansion opportunity for the brand in a high-potential urban centre.
"With its heritage in craftsmanship, thriving food culture, and position as a regional hub, Surat aligns perfectly with the brand's commitment to helping guests discover and savour destinations through a creative lens," Marriott International Senior Vice President, South Asia, Kiran Andicot said in a statement.

IHG Hotels & Resorts inks 150-key Holiday Inn Resort Alwar in Rajasthan
IHG Hotels & Resorts on Wednesday announced the signing of a management agreement with Yash Hotels & Resorts LLP for the development of a 150-key Holiday Inn Resort Alwar in Rajasthan.
"We are pleased to partner with Yash Hotels & Resorts LLP to bring Holiday Inn Resort Alwar to market. With its scenic setting and the strength of the Holiday Inn Resort brand, the hotel will be well positioned to meet the evolving needs of travellers in Alwar," IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director, South West Asia, Sudeep Jain said in a statement.
Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030, the hotel will mark IHG's entry into the city of Alwar.
IHG currently has 51 hotels operating across six brands in India and a pipeline of 89 hotels due to open in the next 3-5 years.
