Mumbai Property Registrations Up 10% in July: 14-Year High

Mumbai property registrations hit a 14-year high in July, rising 10% to 13,824 units. Knight Frank reports strong housing demand and end-user confidence.

New Delhi, Jul 31 (PTI) Registration of properties in the Mumbai municipal region rose 10 per cent to 13,824 units during July, a 14-year high for the month, on better housing demand, according to Knight Frank.
As many as 12,579 properties were registered in July last year.
In a statement on Tuesday, real estate consultant Knight Frank India said the registration of properties in Mumbai city (area under BMC jurisdiction) stood at 13,824 units till 9.30 pm of July 31.
The consultant cited the data compiled from the Maharashtra government's Department of Registrations and Stamps.
The data relates to transactions from both the primary and secondary real estate market.
Shishir Baijal, International Partner, Chairman & Managing Director, Knight Frank India, stated, "Mumbai's residential market continues to demonstrate remarkable depth, recording its strongest July performance in over 14 years despite a high comparative base."
The sustained momentum reflects resilient end-user demand and enduring confidence in home ownership, he added.
Proptech firm Reloy founder Akhil Saraf noted that the demand for residential properties continues to be strong, especially apartments offered by big branded builders.
