Non-Scheduled Aircraft Accidents: Govt Report

New Delhi, Mar 30 (PTI) As many as 17 accidents involving non-scheduled operators' aircraft and helicopters took place in the last five years, including five in 2025, the civil aviation ministry informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Of the total 17 accidents, 12 were helicopters and five were fixed-wing aircraft.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said 46 safety violations involving charter operators were reported in 2025 while the total number of such violations in the last five years stood at 116.


As per the data shared by the minister, eight incidents involving charter operators were reported in last five years, including two last year.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation's (DGCA) safety oversight process includes regulatory audits, night surveillances, ramp inspections, spot check and special audits.

"In addition to Annual Surveillance Plan 2026, DGCA has carried out special audit of 29 non-scheduled operators in the month of February and March 2026, in order to ensure safe operations," Mohol said in another written reply.
