QCIL partners with AMPIN & Radiance to transition CARE Hospitals & KIMS Health to renewable energy, reducing costs & environmental impact.
Mumbai, Apr 7 (PTI) Healthcare platform Quality Care India (QCIL) on Tuesday said it has signed agreements with AMPIN Energy and Radiance Renewables under its Group Captive Solar initiative to help CARE Hospitals and KIMS Health shift to renewable energy in phases.

In the first phase, QCIL's five hospitals across Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra will transition towards sustainable energy, the company said in a statement.

The initiative is part of QCIL's broader plan to transition 19 hospitals under CARE Hospitals and KIMS Health to renewable energy in a phased manner.

Phase I spans Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in Phase II, Kerala in Phase III, and Madhya Pradesh and Telangana in Phase IV.

The transition is expected to deliver an estimated 20 per cent reduction in annual electricity costs, along with improved cost visibility and insulation from tariff volatility, critical for maintaining cost stability in energy-intensive healthcare operations.

AMPIN Energy will service QCIL's facilities in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, while Radiance Renewables will execute Maharashtra projects.

"As we scale our network, sustainability is no longer optional; it is foundational to resilience and efficiency. The Group Captive Solar model allows us to move from being passive consumers of power to active participants in the energy ecosystem, with greater control over cost, reliability, and environmental impact. This is the beginning of a larger shift to embed sustainability into the core of how we build and operate healthcare," QCIL Group Managing Director Varun Khanna said.
