Sanjay Kaul, a senior IAS officer, assumes charge as Managing Director & Group CEO of GIFT City, India's first operational smart city and IFSC.

New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) Senior IAS officer Sanjay Kaul on Monday took over as the Managing Director and Group CEO of global financial centre IFSC Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
Kaul, a 2001-batch officer, succeeds Tapan Ray, who has been at the helm since 2019 and led GIFT City through a defining phase of growth, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) said in a statement.
Sanjay Kaul brings with him over two decades of experience in public policy, infrastructure development, technology, and finance.
Prior to this, he served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and has earlier held leadership roles at Gujarat Informatics Ltd and the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.
A native of Gujarat, Kaul holds a professional degree in Electronics and communication engineering from National Institute of Technology, Surat, and in Public Policy from Syracuse University, New York, USA.
