Shimla, Jun 24 (PTI) The Securities and Exchange Board of India and BSE Investors Protection Fund on Wednesday organised a regional investor seminar for awareness to enhance financial literacy and promote awareness about safe investment practices and the capital market.

The regional investor seminar for awareness (RISA) at Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat in Shimla was aimed at promoting awareness among investors and government officials.

Secretary (Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics) Abhishek Jain, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that financial awareness is very important and people should adopt informed and secure investment practices.


Deputy General Manager, Sebi Northern Regional Office, Mridul Rastogi, delivered the keynote address and shared valuable insights on the capital market, investors' rights and measures to safeguard against cyber frauds.

BSE Senior Vice President Gaurav Kapoor highlighted the investment opportunities available in the market and emphasised the importance of transparency in strengthening investors' confidence.

During the technical session, financial education expert Manjeet S Dhillon provided practical guidance on the fundamentals of investing, risk management and financial planning, enabling participants to make informed financial decisions.
