Shyam Metalics commissions phase-II of its Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) facility in West Bengal, expanding capacity to 0.40 MTPA.
Kolkata, Apr 17 (PTI) Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd on Thursday said it has commissioned the second phase of its Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) facility for colour-coated sheets at the Jamuria plant in West Bengal.

The expansion, undertaken through its wholly owned subsidiary Shyam Sel and Power Ltd, adds a 0.15 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Dual Pot GI-cum-Galvalume line, taking the total CRM capacity to 0.40 MTPA.

The enhanced facility will enable the company to cater to high-growth sectors such as solar energy, automotive and consumer durables, while reducing reliance on imports, particularly in solar panel mounting structures, it said.

The expansion aligns with the Centre's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and strengthens its presence in the value-added steel segment, while improving product diversification and market reach, the company said.

The Jamuria-based facility is expected to offer logistical advantages for serving eastern India and key demand centres, it added.
