Silver Futures Rise to Rs 2.38 Lakh/kg Amid Global Trend

Silver futures surged 0.96% to Rs 2.38 lakh per kg on MCX for September delivery, driven by fresh positions and a firm global trend. Overseas prices also rose.
New Delhi, Aug 17 (PTI) Silver prices rose 0.96 per cent to Rs 2.38 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Monday amid a firm global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 2,270, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 2,38,194 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,412 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.
In the overseas market, silver futures increased 1.64 per cent to USD 65.74 per ounce.
