Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand: Prices Rise to Rs 86,017/kg

Silver futures prices jumped on Monday driven by strong spot demand. The rise was attributed to fresh positions built by participants on a positive domestic trend. Global silver prices also saw an increase in New York.

New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday jumped Rs 806 to Rs 86,017 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 806 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 86,017 per kg in 18,491 lots.


Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.86 per cent higher at USD 30.52 per ounce in New York.
