Silver Futures Surge on Strong Spot Demand

Silver futures prices jumped on Thursday driven by increased spot demand, with the MCX December contract closing at Rs 92,680 per kg. Analysts attributed the rise to positive domestic market trends and a global uptick.

New Delhi, Sep 26 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday jumped Rs 635 to Rs 92,680 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs 635 or 0.69 per cent to Rs 92,680 per kg in 25,697 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 1.15 per cent higher at USD 32.30 per ounce in New York.
