Tata Steel: India Steel Production Up 8% in FY26
New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Tata Steel on Tuesday said that it has reported its best ever annual crude steel production at 23.48 million tonnes in India in 2025-26, registering an increase of eight per cent from the preceding fiscal.

The increase was mainly on account of the ramp-up of output at its Kalinganagar plant.

In the fourth quarter of FY26, crude steel production rose to 6.25 million tonnes from 5.44 MT in the year-ago period, according to the provisional figures of Tata Steel.

The annual deliveries in India increased in line with production, reaching 22.53 MT.

"Domestic deliveries crossed 20 million tonnes for the first time, highlighting our strong market positioning and enduring customer relationships, Tata Steel said in a filing to BSE.

In the fourth quarter of FY26, deliveries were up 10 per cent Y-O-Y, the company said.

The automotive and special products vertical recorded the best-ever annual delivery volumes of 3.4 million tonnes, while branded products and the retail segment achieved volumes of 7.3 million tonnes, driven by the performance of well-established brands.

Tata Steel further said that the industrial products and projects vertical achieved delivery volumes of 7.2 MT, supported by the performance of value accretive segments.

Tata Steel Thailand's saleable steel production in FY2026 was 1.33 million tonnes, and deliveries were 1.32 million tons. Deliveries improved by 11 per cent YoY, primarily driven by strong domestic rebar sales.

Tata Steel group is among the top global steel companies with an annual crude steel capacity of 35 million tonnes. It is one of the world's most geographically diversified steel producers, with operations and commercial presence across the world.
