Triveni Engineering & Industries reports Q1 profit of Rs 3.65 cr, with revenue at Rs 1,961 cr. Alcohol business turnaround and firming sugar prices boost profitability.
New Delhi, Jul 30 (PTI) Triveni Engineering & Industries has reported a consolidated profit of Rs 3.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 6.62 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's total income rose to Rs 1,960.58 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 1,927.27 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday.

The company also informed that its power transmission business (PTB) has been demerged and vested in Triveni Power Transmission Ltd with effect from April 1, 2026.

"FY27 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company following the effectiveness of the composite scheme of arrangement and the demerger of the Power Transmission Business into Triveni Power Transmission Ltd (TPTL)," Dhruv M Sawhney, Chairman and Managing Director of Triveni Engineering & Industries, said.

He said the company has achieved a positive start to the fiscal year, with improved profitability despite a challenging operating environment characterised by lower sugarcane yields, increased sugarcane prices and evolving ethanol demand dynamics.

"Sugar prices subsequent to the June quarter have significantly firmed up in line with the estimates of lower sugar inventories at the end of the sugar season 2025-26 as well as due to uncertainties about the impact of El Nino on sugar production next season," Sawhney said.

The alcohol business continued its turnaround trajectory and remained a key contributor to the improvement in overall profitability, the CMD said. "The business has benefited from lower maize procurement costs, favourable feedstock economics, improved by-product realisations and enhanced operating efficiencies," Sawhney said.

Looking ahead, he said the company remains confident about the medium-to-long-term prospects of its businesses.

Triveni Engineering & Industries operates in the areas of sugar, alcohol and water.
