V-Bazaar plans to expand to 250 stores in smaller towns, creating 10,000 jobs in 4 years. Focus on Tier III & IV markets.
New Delhi, May 11 (PTI) Fashion and lifestyle product retailer V-Bazaar on Monday said it is accelerating store additions in smaller towns and plans to expand its workforce by over 2.5 times to 10,000 in the next four years.

Hiring will largely come from Tier III and IV markets, where expansion continues, and demand has remained steady, said V-Bazaar, which currently employs about 3,600 people.

"The increase in workforce is linked to the company's plan to scale its network to over 250 stores over time," the company said in a statement.

The company said it expects each store to generate 35-40 direct jobs, besides indirect employment through logistics and local service partners.

V-Bazaar currently operates 130 stores in over 100 cities, and is entering new towns while building on existing markets.

The company is expanding its sales network through a "cluster-based approach", in which a store in nearby locations supports operations and supply chains.

Chairman and Managing Director Hemant Agarwal said the focus is on building strong teams on the ground as V-Bazaar expands into newer markets.

"As we add more stores in smaller towns, we are creating opportunities for local talent and investing in training so teams are ready from the start.

"The company is hiring management trainees from renowned management and fashion institutes. The idea is to grow in a steady and structured way," he added.
